Another chance to grow for Munro

Those who are fans of the Munro and Munro American line of footwear could now be seeing a bigger presence of the brand with the news of a rather large acquisition, further increasing their footprint on the market.

Munro Shoes recently bought Melbourne, Australia Shoe retailer Mountford Shoes, a deal worth approximately $20 million.

The Munro family already currently operates footwear wholesaler Styling Services, which owns and distributes popular brands such as Mollini, Django & Juliette, Midas, and others. The Munro brand itself was launched back in 1962.

This acquisition follows another recent one, when the Munro group acquired Wanted Shoes back in March of  2015. Wanted also turns over roughly $20 million annually. Last year, the Munro family also snatched up Style Tread in an effort to increase its presence in the online shoe market.
